Pixlr is an online photo editing service that offers numerous editing tools and effects Not only can you quickly edit and add effects to your photos, you will also be able to create your own images using the many paint tools – and it's all available directly on the tool bar.

Ease of Use

Pixlr’s interface is set up similarly to other e software-based photo editing products, so if you're not very familiar with photo editing software, it can be a little difficult to navigate the tools at first. Once you are comfortable with the setup of Pixlr, you'll find that there are number of ways to use to tools and features to edit your photos.

Editing Features

The tool bar, found directly on the editing screen of Pixlr, is where you will be able to find the most common tools you will use to edit your photos. Crop, rotate, resize are the basic editing tools available, and there are also more advanced editing features like the lasso and wand. The touch-up and red-eye removal tool are great tools to fix some of the most common problems found in photos. These and many other options such as crop, resize and rotate will improve the look and quality of you photos.

The history box is where Pixlr lists all the actions you have used to edit your photo. From this list you can go back to previous actions and compare the effects without needing to start over. The history box also makes it easy to remove specific tools and effects applied to a photo without needing to remove any others.

Design Features

There are a good number of effects available with this online photo editing service, although it will take a little time to get familiar with where effects are found. Pixlr offers one-click effects, meaning once an effect has been selected, Pixlr adjusts your photo automatically. This makes the online photo editing tools very easy to use, and it means you won't need a lot of experience working with the different effects in order to get impressive results.

Pixlr is lacking stickers and frames. Most services offer these feature to allow you to create personal photos that are perfect for gifts. Not having these features gives Pixlr a disadvantage when comparing to the services that do.

Import & Export

Pixlr can import photos from your computer, Facebook, Picasa and Flickr. The same options are available when exporting your photos from Pixlr. You are able to export your photos back to your computer. You can print your photo, or share your photo on your photo sharing or social networking sites.

Pixlr is overall a good online photo editing service to use. Navigating can be a little difficult in the beginning, but the tools and effects are very easy to use. The biggest drawback Pixlr has is that it can only import photos from your computer, although there are plenty of ways to export your photos once you've edited them. Despite a few inconveniences, Pixlr provides the tools you need to make quality edits to your photos.
